Photos from a hike to Mt. Huron (14,006 ft) here in Colorado back at the end of August along with a short stop to see Winfield (can't really see at 400 am in the morning) - this was another early morning hike leaving my house at 200 am to get to the trailhead around 500 am to avoid the groups that come latter in the morning.

Heading up the trail around 530 am.

View of the summit.

Hikers heading up the trail in background - I ended up catching them then passing them again on the way down.

Another view of the summing and a hiker or two in the background.

Had to take a break to catch my breathe at this point and I was starting to get a little cold due to the wind.

Getting closer.

What a dork - next time I'm wearing my contacts and sun glasses.

At the summit - I loved seeing the clouds in the valley down below.

Pano from the summit - I could only keep my fingers out of my gloves for a short time due to the wind and cold.

Heading back down.

This was my last 14er of the year. I had planned on hiking a few others but due to other circumstances things didn't quite work out. Next year though I'll be back in the area to hit up 3 more 14ers on a 16 mile loop, maybe this time I'll camp so I don't have a 200 am wakeup call.
