Helton heater install

I bought my Helton HE2 from Kurt back in May and used it many times on my excursion to SW Utah later in the month, and it's brilliant. I used a cheap RV water pump to power it, but wanted a more permanent install. Here's how I did it:

First, I needed a fuse holder, switch, pump and pressure washer fittings:

The fuse holder: Blue Sea #5065

It's fairly water resistant. I didn't really want to run wires all the way across to the fuse box on the firewall, so I used this.

The switch: Blue Sea #4150

I'll probably add a waterproof cover that screws onto the trim ring as soon as I can source one locally.

The pump is a small, inexpensive Shurflo I had laying around. Here it is installed:

I wouldn't doubt if it I replace it with a more substantial pump, but I'll run this one until it fails or I tire of its low output. We'll see.

The Helton heater, bolted to the inner fender of the truck. The six cylinder engine gives plenty of room for it

I used the pressure washer fittings because I wanted an easy way to connect the hoses, and installed the male fittings under the hood because I wanted to keep the female ends in the truck, out of dirt and weather. The blue covers are hydraulic fitting covers. They work pretty well at keeping out crud and they're pretty cheap.
I'll use it to heat cool/cold water to shower temperature in a 3 gallon Reliant container. I'll then place the container on the camper roof, or use the shower pump that came with the Helton with the container on the ground. I'll probably use the former method the most.

This is an easy install that I made a little harder by being fussy. A shout out to Kurt (possibly the nicest guy in the world) at Cruiseroutfitters.com for being willing to order the exact item I wanted, and for great service during and after the sale.
