Cut out the holes for the cable today, and welded it in, and made a new mounting plate. It's going to look awesome.

Got the bumper done, and the winch mounted up and wired. Next step is to wire controls into the cab and build a switch box for the dash.

Thanks. That was the idea, to make it look like it was something Toyota could have done, or at least would have been done in the 70's.

Switched to work on the back of the cruiser today. I cut the parts for these out over a year ago, and never finished them. Finally got 3 of them done today and I'm very happy with how they came out. I turned down a knob for the end of the rod, and drilled a hole for a small luggage type padlock on the other end. Doubled my fuel range! Yay.

Took a little trip today. Nothing fancy.. jut needed out of the house. Between me being sick a few weeks ago, my wife being sick last week, work, life, ect.. it's been a while since we got out and did something fun. Woke up this morning and it was pouring rain.. and my wife said screw housework lets take the cruiser somewhere. No arguments from me. Took a drive around some old mining towns, up the road these pictures are on. Massive downpour the whole time and crazy winds.. but it was better then watching it rain from the living room. Did about 20 miles on dirt, exploring back roads. 80 miles or so total. Good day.

Thanks! My wife designed that. Our last name is Apple.. so we wanted to put an apple on stuff we make/sell when we can. She did a awesome job with the design.

Wow, I haven't updated this in a while. Mostly, just been wheeling it a lot this summer.

Added in cab winch controls.

Took it on some pretty epic trips.

And this week I've been working on my on board air system. Finally... been wanting this for years and just have always had some reason to wait. I still do, but I just got sick of not having air.. always having to plan to come out near a gas station or rely on a friend to have OBA.

Thank you. I love the front of the cruiser, I didn't want to clutter it up with extra bars and lights. Nice and clean to show off that pretty face. haha.

I gutted an Fj80 rear heater today, and flipped the inlet and outlet on the core 180*, and built a little box with 2.25 inch holes. Tomorrow I'll weld in 2 inches or so of exhaust tube to each hole, and attach some plastic flexy hose and have a defroster for the first time in 10 years! Pretty excited about being able to get rid of the rag in the center console.. no more wiping the fog down off every few minutes.

And tomorrow is also the day the old broken transfer case will come out. 46 years was a good run, but she's done. My wife will be happy to have a transfer case that she doesn't have to keep her foot against the shifter to keep it in gear. I will be happy to not have a puddle of gear oil under it every where I park.

Man, you are making me want to create a punch list of all the little projects I want and need to do my 40 as well. It's nuts how we can make peace with a lot of little stuff that with a little time and effort would be fixed right and more enjoyable in the long run. Keep it up.

Got my on board air finished up today... well, for now. I still want to add a tank, but until I find one for uber cheap, or free.. it will be done. We'll see if the red rubber hose lasts... I half expect it to melt, but it seems to be holding up for now. I flattened a couple of tires, and refilled them and am SUPER happy with how it performs. I am very happy.

I'll add a switch inside the cab at some point as well, the two middle ports on my manifold are left empty for future ARBs solenoids.
