Heating : Hot air on driver's side, cool air on passenger side

Most cars have a valve that shuts off flow to the heater core when you have the heater off. Montero's have coolant flowing through constantly, there is no shutoff.

Yes, my Montero can get hot inside if I was on a long enough drive but for my 25-30 min. commute to work, best I'll see is 60* or so when outside temps are 20-30*. I'm not complaining, you just have to realize there is a lot of air to warm in these trucks and glass if you are using them in freezing temps.

Ah ok that paints a different picture. Something is wrong with mine, then. Mine will get warm inside if i'm driving between 30-45mph. Faster than that or idling, it loses heat.

Suspect a clogged core, ducting issue(s) (The center vents refuse to blow anything but icy cold), and possibly a bad thermostat.

I'd need to check it, but the controls havent really been an issue so far. The ONLY minor thing that happens is one side of windshield defrosts faster than the other, but they both clear off just fine.
