Aluminum plating on the floor is going to be covered with soft floor mats with a thin cushion layer to make it comfortable. Want to be able to remove it to clean.

The aluminum storage will be wrapped on the inside with audio carpet. What's on the outside of subwoofer enclosures.

Wood is going to be stained or painted. Haven't decided 100% on that.

Paused for a few days. Originally was going to stick with the stock vents but got a deal on a maxxfan, so before I finish the interior roof that'll replace the front vent.

Back at it this week. Received the fan and tape to do the install. Prepped for the install yesterday by removing the old vent, grinding away a little rust, painting with rust inhibitor and a final top coat.

Of course I choose to open the hole in my roof one of the few weekends it decided to rain in Los Angeles. So I had to be creative and cover up the van.

Installation was straight forward. First cut some dimensional PVC to fill the valleys in the roof. Then glue those in place. Apply byltl tape to the fan, place fan in hole, drill holes, screw and seal. Then connect the fan to the wires for power which I had already run. There is a auxiliary diesel pickup tube right on your fuel pump assembly...I saw pics of it the other day... somewhere online. You can simply tap into that. R

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to find that. I don't really want to drain, drop, and reinstall the tank.

Decided to redo the base of the cabinets in aluminum. The wood wasn't perfect and was going to require to much finish work.

The pics I’ve seen of the aux pickup have it in the center of the round fuel sender ‘plate’. I’ll see if I can spot a pic.
I think I know what your referring to now. Doesn't getting to that require dropping the tank? I thought I read that, but would be more than happy for that to be wrong.

Yes... likely dropping tank (or cutting hole through floor). I’ve got a newer tank to swap in sometime... really not looking forward to it. The last & only car tank I dropped went smoothly, so it likely won’t be that bad :D

Yes I don't think it'll be too bad, just time consuming. I'd want to pump out the diesel to drop it. I suppose I could just run it pretty low and then try it.

Decided the wood base on the cabinets wasn't perfect. Redid then in aluminum to match the rest. Decision time as well, I might redo the bed in aluminum as well.

Top part is aluminum as well but it's not pictured. The wood was just there to confirm the height was even.

That’s what I’ve done with other vehicles. If in doubt, carry a Jerry Can of fuel and drive it till you’re running on fumes.
