hardsided popup roof lift options

I'm building a flatbed popup similar to the alaskan camper and am trying to find a roof lift option. I know typically linear actuators are used in the corners but I prefer low-tech stuff. I'd like to use a removable center post that extends from 48"-78", so ideally i need something that extends 30" or so. Currently I'm considering a long ram hydraulic jack (but cant find one that extends 30") or hi-lif. I thought i'd bounce the idea off of you guys and see if there is something else out there I should be looking into.

Check out axle stands. For garages. They usually have tri-pod design with threaded shaft that can be raised or lowered with a big wingnut type handle. Don't know if you can get 30" out of one tho. They have varying heights.

Check out the Breha canopy lifts (Australian). I got a pair shipped from down under. Haven't installed them yet but will be trying them out soon. About as low-tech as you can get.
