Introducing Hiatus Campers
IMG_9479-Edit.jpg

We are a new camper company based in Washington that designs and manufactures hard-sided pop-up truck campers. You can visit our website: hiatuscampers.com. Our patent pending folding wall system utilizes composite panels that can be popped up in less than ten seconds. The entire camper is insulated and provides four season protection in a tiny package.

The starting price for our shell model is $11,995 (mid-size truck). You can find all of our pricing information on the purchase page of our website! Use our camper customizer to play around with the different add-ons we offer.

Our design can be adapted to fit any make or model (including short and long beds)!

We also offer our services to build out custom interiors for each camper.

Here is a minimal and lightweight interior that includes a wrap-around storage bench and counter, with room below to stow a crash pad.

You can also request a more modular interior. Here is an example of storage benches, a hide-away table, and a fold-away counter. All of the furniture in this picture is removable. We utilize L-track, which makes it easy to go from a camping interior to a useable truck bed in minutes.

For a mid-size truck, the sleeping platform is 50" x 74" and for a full-size truck, it's 56" x 74". Beds can be longer on request. Even when it is slid out, you are not cut off from the lower area of the camper.

The perfect off-road companion. Contoured to your truck and super light weight for easy maneuvering on backroads.

Looks awesome. Good luck with the new business. It looks like a great set up.

I'm sure many ppl will wonder what the base weight is for the various sizes.

Wow, wow, wow! This is a simply awesome design! Brilliant!

Here’s the imgur link where there’s a short vid of how this sets up:

One possible design challenge I saw there though was that the demo seemed to only shows the roof being raised and lowered from the outside of the rig (with you having to be tall enough to stand on your truck’s rear tires to push it up and open). Is there an easy way to raise and lower the roof from inside of the shell?

That post was actually our first pop-up build. Our new camper can be found here:

We realized we had tweaks to do with our system and thats why we developed a entirely new design for our folding walls! The new Hiatus Camper can be opened from the inside with one person :)

Thank you! The weight is 420-460 lbs for mid-size trucks and 450-500 lbs for full-size trucks. Our design can be adapted to fit short and long beds, which is why there is this weight range.

I hope one of your tweaks was to toss out the pocket hole jig. that shot of the cabin fill of holes make the rest of your nice work look awful.
We are sorry to hear that you feel this way. We take great pride in our work and strive to constantly improve our designs. Personally, we don't mind the look of the pocket holes, but understand that some customers may feel differently. If someone preferred something different, we could easily fill those holes with dowels or simply design a new style of interior that fit their needs. We provide the option to have a say in your interior build out, as we respect the ideas and needs of every person who seeks our services.
