Haddix's FJ Build

Would like to start off with my Toyota history. My first vehicle was a 99 single cab Tacoma. I kept it bone stock but it opened my eyes to the 4wd world. I have since then built up a couple other Toyota's.
My first Toyota Build. A 3rd gen 4runner.

I love Toyota's so here is the start of my FJ build.

My plans for this rig is to keep it semi DD friendly but still be able to tackle anything I throw at it. I want to be able 3-4 hours to the trail and drive back no problems. I am going to try to keep it semi mild with 3" lift, 33-35's, and the basic armor(bumpers, sliders and skids)

I traded my Tacoma for the FJ. It was bone stock so I was ready for another Toyota build. I kept my wheels and tires from the Tacoma to put on the FJ. They are 255/85/16's so I had to cut to fit. Here is a pic of the FJ with the tires/wheels.

I love cutting on my rigs.
Here is some pics from the body chop mount.

Next on the list will be a spare KM2, probably an OME lift and possibly custom sliders.
I work at a machining shop so I deal with metal everyday. I may start to work on a custom front/rear bumper soon. Have a lot of ideas running through my mind with this rig so we will have to see how it unfolds.

Can't wait to see more. I have 110,000 on my FJC, and haven't driven it in a month, due to having broken my left left, and it being a manual. I am very sad to have to wait at least another month before I can drive it.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I have been looking into custom front/rear bumpers. Going to draw up some designs and probably put some into production. Going to my uncles in a few weeks who owns a fab shop to go over some ideas. He is the one who built the bumpers for my old 4runner.

I'm liking the FJ! It's cool to see people rolling old school on skinny tires on steel rims! That front bumper y'all fabbed up for the 4-runner is clean! Wish I had that kind of fab skill.....

Looking forward to watching your build as well. I have built my FJ for the most part the same way as you are planing to do and I'am very satisfied with how it turned out.

Thanks. Yeah I also like the old school look of the skinnies. I can't wait to get bumpers going for the FJ, just trying to get time where we are both available.

Awesome, do you have a build thread on here?

Finally picked up a spare tire and am currently weighing my options for lift kits. Leaning torwards the OME kit.
