Grab handle RAM ball mount

I swapped out a grab handle bolt with a RAM mount ball. The ball needs to be pushed out to clear the handle . I just used some washers to space out the ball. .

Now I can locate my InReach on the P/S up high against the windshield and out of the way.

These are the parts I needed . I used 1/4 " washers as spacers.

Hope this comes in handy for someone else.

Common on Tacomas, too.

I have one on both sides, GPS on the driver's side and SPOT on upper passenger side as well.

Aren’t y’all concerned with overheating the instruments?
Normal use it's not an issue, no worse than having it on my backpack strap or on sliding back and forth across the dash board. I wouldn't leave it mounted there while parked in the summer with the cab closed up around our locale, though I think a SPOT would tolerate it better than a CB, ham or dash stereo.

SPOT specs:
• IP67 waterproof: Up to a depth of 1 m for up to 30 minutes (SPOT is not waterproof when being line powered)
• Operating temperatures: -22 F to +140 F (-30 C to 60 C)
• Operating altitude: -328 ft to 21,320 ft (-100 m to 6,500 m)
• Humidity and Salt Fog rated
• If you exceed 700 mph (Mach 1) GPS accuracy degrades
