Goodyear Wrangler Ultra-Terrain AT - is this a new tire?

I have them on my Land Cruiser and the other weekend I went down a trail that was rocky and steep and full of ruts. I went down the road for about a mile until I realized that the road wasn't getting any better and I had left my recovery gear at home. So I turned around and went back up to the main road. At no point did the tires seem to be giving me trouble.

Same here. Though I still think that he can do better. He may need to match them with high-quality rims, just like these Jeep wrangler XD wheels.
Why would you not overland with them? Ive watched videos of Europeans overlanding in an D110 with all seasons and another with very mild AT's(dont remember the brand any more, but I had to rewind the video to chek what tires they were running. They werent much more than a Michelin LTX type tread).

What type of tire do you think you would need to overland? An MT? or aggressive AT?
