Going Overland Translobal Exped

We set out from England in June 2010 to circumnavigate the globe overland - not an easy task as only 4% of land is opposite land but hey what's that got to do with it.

We love our land rover but we have had to stop a few times for some extra TLC and we now know it'll take a mite longer than the two years we originally estimated!

Our latest position is that after five weeks holed up in San Pedro de Atacama (Chile) doing lots of mechanics with our Land Rover 110 we're delighted to be expecting to be back on the road properly in a few days, and heading towards our second antipodean point again!

After over two years on the road and having been chassis deep in the Salar de Uyuni a few of months back it's not surprising there's been some work to do!

Right now just loving the dry heat and sunshine of the South American summer, and looking forward to seeing more of the Atacama Desert.

Oooo it's been ages since I've been on here - well after loving the Atacama and the absolute remoteness of north western Argentina (only saw one vehicle in a whole week and that was a bus!), enjoying the Chilean lake district, we finally hit our second antipodal point in Patagonian Chile - just need to cover a few more longitudes, cross the equator again and get home!!! Along the way our clutch gave up the ghost (now repaired), our steering box became irredeemably arthritic (about to be replaced) but worst of all our rear axle snapped on a corner in the road in Torres del Paine, shooting us off the road into the brush. More TLC required!! Full story and photos on our facebook page and blog (www.goingoverland.com)
