Highlights of this segment include unpaved roads through the rainforest, wild river crossings, wonderful oceanside camping, sea turtles, toucans, Mayan ruins, volcanoes, a broken front spring repaired by Mennonite blacksmiths, being refused entry into El Salvador because their Fuso Canter has the driver's position on the right side of the cab, and a police escort through a portion of Guatemala because the local authorities thought it was unsafe.

The Boltons will return to Panama in July 2013 to ship their vehicle to Colombia, and continue their peregrinations in South America.
