GMRS question

Ok I already have my tech license with a Dual band radio and I love the range and performance . I've had a CB for the last 20 years and we all kow the performance of thease .My local club has shown some interest in moving toward GMRS .I am looking at ditching the CB and purchasing a Midland MXT275 .I already have a new coax and nmo mount . My question is I have another dual band antenna that is nmo mount that is good for 480 mhz . Will this antenna work well for my intended use or should I look at something different

I would recommend putting a meter on it and finding out. Ask the local Amateur club to borrow an antenna analyzer and test it at 462 MHz (simplex) and 467 MHz (repeater inputs) and check it’s resonance.

If anything, it is on an NMO mount and could easily be swapped out

Sent by electrons or some crap like that.

To add to the list of questions, are you talking about an NMO feed and antenna dedicated to the GMRS or sharing an antenna with the ham radio?
