I was thinking about MFG's like Weldtec getting into the GM van market and what the future looks like for the big van. It looks like alot of blank canvas out there if people get the idea in their head, and their van should help...
I found that the Wentzville Plant claims 2.5 million vans produced since 1996, around 1.6 million after the 2003 body and frame changes and climbing..........The Cut Away chassis are being farmed out soon but the regular vans still share the line with the small pickups..
I have had no luck finding out how many AWD 1500 H-Chassis have been built since 2003.....I have a feeling it is more than it would seem at first, they always come up on a search. If anybody has any ideas on how to find the numbers post up, the 1500's have been included in the CAFE standards unlike the 8600GVW and above vans which could help us figure it out. It would be nice to have some aftermarket options for these vans too.....
