Getting a mitsu - Gen 2 VS 2.5

I think I'm going to get a Gen 2 or gen 2.5. here pretty quick. I am only going to buy one with the rear diff lock.

I have owned a 93 SR and a '03 Limited but never really used them as my off-road ride. At the time I was into really fast desert stuff.

Anyway, my rig now is plenty capable but is a little too large with a 156" wheelbase and it's a rough ride.

I have found a 97SR withthe rear locker with 135k miles for $5k

What are the differences between the later gen 2 and the 2.5 other than the body flares??

Thanks,
Jason

IIRC gearing changes were a possibility w/ some having 4.2x r&p gears while others came w/ 4.6x gearing but hopefully someone who know for sure can confirm that. My 96SR has the 4.63's.

One thing I like in the gen 2.5's is the availability of heated seats which the gen II's didn't have as an option.
