I made a trip home from the port last week.

I bought this truck in Slovakia, had it reconditioned in Graz, Austria, Drove it to Rotterdam, Shipped it to Long Beach, Drove it home to Minnesota.

Awesome journey so far!

Is there a place that specializes in reconditioning G's in Graz?

There are actually 2 places.

I used Tschiewagon (just outside of Graz, but going to "town" is going to Graz)

Very cool! I never considered getting them restored overseas, seems like a much more cost effective thing to do vs paying some of the us based companies to do it for you...

I am so happy that I did it this way. They have the parts, they know the vehicle, they make it right, they don't use bondo. The price is actually very similar to what they would charge in the US. I had such a great experience that I want to do another car again just because I want to work with the boys at Tschiewagon again.

Very cool, it must've been an interesting journey given the different levels of concern and restrictions in place for the viral pandemic; I bet every fuel stop felt uniquely different. What better way to get accustomed to the new ride than to road trip with it right off the boat.
