Anyone have any experience with the modular awning? Can't find much info on it or photo's/video's of people using it.

No experience with FrontRunner, but Ironman 4x4 has a similar setup which I have.
They have a quick release mounting system that works with many brands of awning...with that and 2 additional poles, you can quickly remove the awning from the vehicle and free-stand it anywhere. It’s been great when I want to cover a picnic table, for example, but can't get the vehicle downtown it.
The QR system is great...makes removing/ mounting the awning a 30-second procedure.
