Tim's set up is solid, If I was in the market for another van I'd consider his or MG's 4x4 set ups… but might lean towards Tim (Denver Fleet) Timberline 4x4 van since he's local.

I'm pretty happy with mine. It steers and drives great. Tim is a great guy to work with, too. I have the 4.6L in mine and it is definitely no power house, but the only time it's really an issue is going over mountain passes. I just have to 65 mph instead of 90 like all of the crazy people around here. And I only tow my pop-up which is only 900 lbs, and my Subaru can tow that pretty easily. He has a good warranty,too.

I don't see any issues, plenty of guys run the 4.6 over at SMB forum with no issues. If you're not pulling, then it's a great set up and you save money on both the V10 gas expense and the maintenance of a diesel.

I driven & owned many Ford cars & trucks with 4.6L & 5.4L V8's. I've never seen a 4.6L in a van or truck get any better gas mileage than a 5.4L when loaded (few people, gear, etc.). My dad had a 2wd F150 SCab with a 2V 4.6L and he got worse gas mileage than I did with my 4wd F150 SCrew with a 2V 5.4L. If I was never going to tow, I would go with at least a 5.4L, but I would never get a 4.6L in one of these.
