My SO bought this Ranger in '03 with 60,000 miles on it. I have been dealing with it since then. Recently we struck up a deal and it's mine for the cost of getting it out of her name. She bought a new car from me a while back.

It is a '01 Ranger XLT, 2.5L auto base truck. It's riding on metric 30x9.50-15 Kenda AT tires. Someone removed the tow pack. I bought everything and reinstalled it. The receiver is a Hidden Hitch and rated for 500/5000lbs and 750/7500lbs with weight disribution hitch. Barely good for basic enclosed transportation. The bed is to small to do anything with but haul a few bags of refuse.

I have completely rebuilt the front suspension. I had the driveshaft rebuilt, and I have done a lot of engine work on it. It still runs like crap. I'll do something with it. Not sure what I'll do yet. I have ideas. I'm just not sure if I want to put money into it or just buy a nice '99-05 Chevy 2500 cargo van. I'd really like to have a Chevy crew cab 4x4 Colorado/Canyon, but the beds are just to damn short.

What's your front suspension set up? Still have torsion bars?

Negative haven’t had torsion bars in years.

Current set up is a dixion brothers racing long travel suspension with 2.5x8 king coil overs

Hey Mike.rider - That is one beautiful Ranger you have there!!! With the Dixion Brothers long travel setup, how much lift are you running?

Is the lift amount determined by the coil overs used or is there "lift" built into the long travel kit?

The the widened front end are you using a standard width F-150 8.8 rear?

What width wheels and back spacing are you using?

Is the Dixion brothers still around? cant find any info/website on them-
I see Brandon at BTF is making a 4x4 ranger long travel.

Truck 1: 1994 Ford Ranger (5 speed/4WD), loaded up for a Baja trip to San Ignacio lagoon, before the highways was extended to the coast.
About 45 miles of dirt from MX Hwy. 1 to the camp.

The fiberglass Leer shell flexed at the Yakima rack connections, and dust covered all the gear inside.

Truck 2: 2000 Mazda B-4000, w/Callen shell, Death Valley.

I am about 2.5” lift running 35x12.5r15 tires wheels are 15x8 with 3.75” back spacing.

Dixion sold all their stuff to Vegas desert Fab and they now have a full 4.5 kit and a 2.5 wider kit. Brandon makes killer stuff I want to swap to his race kit but don’t want to move away from ball joints. Heim joints are to much Maint it the mud and grime we have up here

In the rear I am running an 8.8 out of a 2001 f150. Ordered custom axle shafts from Dutchman to match the 5x4.5 front bolt pattern and built custom brakes for my mustang cobra rear brakes. Also have an ARB locker and 4.56 gears.
