This one had us up half the night talking about storing it in Mexico for two years then importing to the US. Still talking about it, but what a huge jump from our 20 foot firstroamer to 29+.
I can at least verify its existence. We saw this one parked in La Ventana, Baja last week. We were hoping to meet the owners and check it out but they were never around. I guess the broken leg explains that. (See video)

Too bad we missed eachother, normaly I'm sitting outside with my foot up for already 8 weeks now and one day in the week we go to hospital. That must be the reason you missed us. If your'e still around, hop by.
Yes your'e right, the only way for an American is to store it for two years in the Baja. There are plenty safe storages here.
Of course you can always drive it outside the U.S. with Dutch export plates.

Wow is right! We need to form an LLC and have several partners called BAJA VACATION TOY LLC. Who needs storage when it's always on the move with thoughtful owners! I wish!

GLWS!

Be headed down to La Ventana for kitesurfing and ping pong in a week! Seriously interested in seeing this DAF rig. How much longer you in La Ventana/La Paz/Southern Baja? Will email.

I am open to others in this thread in creating a partnership LLC and sharing the vehicle worldwide, have parking spots in La Ventana, Baja, Truckee, CA and El Chalten, Patagonia!

Cheers,

Fantastic truck!
I've been saving for a vehicle / house like this for four years. I figure I'm half way there.
Good luck with the sale.
I hope you heal up quickly.

It has 3 seats up front. The seat in the middle is not very recomended for long distances, but maybe good for a child. In the living area ther are 2 seats with seatbelts.

Hey, Is this the man who crashed his motorbike in La Ventana? We stopped to see if you were OK but it looked like you had many friends there to help!

I met with Joop and his wife on sunday in la ventana, he graciously showed me the truck and explained all its systems inside and out. its a unbelievably well built and designed truck that will serve someone well for many years of travel. the cab is very modern for a 1994 cab. the cabin is also a heavy duty well designed living quarters with everything you expect in a rig of this stature. bath/shower/toilet enclosure is spacious, has a grey water/black water tank system. Tons of storage in this rig, both inside the cabin and outside. Cabin was built in 2010, Joop has maintained this truck extraordinarily well.

Thanks to Joop for taking the time and energy to show this amazing DAF truck. Enjoyed the conversation re travels and moto adventure in life.
