This is a great "video" of a trip the young Toby Fleming made 60 years ago. Quite an adventure. He did a great job turning still pictures into a good video with interesting commentary.

His comment about the video.
This "video" documents a journey made across Africa and the Sahara Desert in 1959/60. It uses color slides shot during the journey and shows how images from the past can be given a new lease of life. This is not a journey I would care to make today.

Thank you for finding and posting this, it is fantastic!

Parts reminded me of movies from the 50's and 60's and the Mutual of Omaha TV show Wild Kingdom.

Can't really travel in some of those areas now, simply too dangerous, unless you want to go to war.
