Figuring Out the Stock Unimog S404 Fuel System

I’m trying to take a mostly stock Unimog back to fully stock - but there are some little pieces to the restoration puzzle that I need some help with.

On the factory dual tanks, there is a fitting on the top of the rear tank. I think it’s a breather fitting, but looking to see if any of you have any ideas or pictures from your vehicles to help me understand what the open fitting really is.

Also on that rear tank is the factory fuel level gauge. One of the leads is free - so on the same topic of the rear tank, anybody have a picture of how theirs is wired?

You should have 2 wires going to the sender and a third one grounding the housing.

Originally a hose goes about 50cm up the bed/cab with a 180degree bend at the end so water stays out.
