Fuso FG140 4x4 Adventure Vehicle - $72000 (Portland OR)

RDzBpoN.jpg

2005 chassis with 4cyl turbo-diesel and 5speed trans; 2speed transfer case, locking hubs, limited slip rear diff. 70K miles. Stock except for 3" exhaust and super-single wheel conversion. Recent service including new clutch.

Insulated camper is aluminum framed and skinned; 3-point articulated steel sub-frame. Fiberglass pop-top is electrically actuated, and adds 30" to headroom as well as upper-bunk; side panel flips out via gas-springs, adding additional sleeping space.

Electrical: house battery with 2000w inverter;
Plumbing: 21gal fresh water, 21gal grey water; cassette toilet; sink, shower;
Propane fired furnace, cooktop and on-demand hot water.

Additional features negotiable: e.g., camper has built-in pass-through to cab ... but cab has not yet been cut. Also, truck retains stock leaf-springs which are (my wife says) too stiff. A solution is planned, but not included (negotiable).

We are going to sell Sally Ross.... Not excited about it, as we have only owned her 1 year, but we have recently been afforded the opportunity to live abroad and we can't pass it up. So the Fuso has to go.

I will put a full ad up in the next few days. Basic stats: 2014 Fuso FG 4x4 and camper 19K miles PRICE: $99,000 (currently financed with USAA on typical RV loan), can be yours for the summer! Truck has been awesome to us... PERFECT adventure rig

We have posted ours for sale in the FOR SALE Expedition Campers section of this forum. We are constantly torn to keep or sell but there is no where to store here in downtown Houston, Texas for the next five years.

Thank you to all those that have helped us build it and met on the road.

just spotted an FG for sale at Rocklea Truck Parts in Brisbane. Just a flat bed on the back. I don't know anything more about it - I was hunting for parts.

Yep....I know a bit about it and a couple of things in the ad confuse me....not that that is hard to do. They claim its an '07 with 113 k's.
.
For a start, it was built by ATW around '01 on a FG637 with long span suspension for a Cape York tour company. ATW bought it back off them about 10 years later, fitted single wheels and other mods and then onsold it to a civil construction company doing the Brisbane Clem7 tunnel. After the contract about 18 moths later, the bus was pretty trashed .It was then bought by a Brisbane company (running Fraser/ Moreton tours) who supposedly did a good job of refurbishing the body and mechanicals.
.
When ATW bought this bus back I drove it down from Cairns to Yandina and I'm sure it had more than 113k k's on the clock. A LOT more. Maybe it had an engine gearbox / swap and they changed out the speedo from the same truck as the engine which would explain the claim. Not saying this is fair but I'd be very interested to see the Vin number anyway.
