Good morning I was hoping to get some feedback on the possibility of stretching a U1200.
Lets get to the bones. The truck is an 88. Om352A. I can push it to 170hp with some IP injection work.
Also, the truck is a Snowblower. 24 speed tranny. Once that is removed. I have a 1200 with 1600 running gear which gives it the big boy disc brakes, axles, suspension(weighs in at 23,000+lbs), and Level 4 suspension upgrade stock.
So the stock frame is 1/2" thick. 6.5" outer web with 5.5" inner web.
My thinking is to stretch it. Max length 4900mm.
Since a 1300L is 3250mm and the Lwb are 3700mm and 3800mm. That be minimum.
So where would I source the frame rail? I checked with the local steel supplier.
I have the European Frame manual for shortening or lengthening a frame. Need to do a work up.
Anywhere be appreciated. I realize many people would say...why not find a longer Mog to start with. Although not entirely out of the picture this is ...
Is It Possible. Cost. MFG specs.
Other things to consider.
Torque Tube Lengthening.
Drive line lengthening.
Torque tube supports.
Brake lines.
