F450 with 45” tires

I have used the 335/80r20 tires on my ranch truck and have really liked them except for how badly they cut into the mud and make ruts.

I replaced them with a set of 425/75r20 (45”x17”) Conti tires. They are DOT approved and are speed rated. I now run 55 mph at 1500 rpm with 4.88 axle gears. Runs nice on the road

The edge of our pond is sludge. The tires stayed on top of it instead of sinking into it.

Our “overlanding” here is going to the back pastures to feed the fish, putting out round bales of hay and driving to the middle pasture to our gun range. All of which are put on hold if it is muddy.

Not anymore...

Justin

Yeah, that's the AC-70G. The "G" is the speed rating (55 mph). They're a good tire- I'm glad they're working out for you. They're way too small for my MTVR (about 8" too small), or I'd be tempted to use something like that.

Yes. A bit too small for the MTVR but I also run them on an LMTV. These tires and the rear locker completely changed the truck’s capabilities.

That beast of a tire is actually street legal? Wow, it looks pretty unstoppable. F450 looks great with them on.

There are larger DOT-legal sizes up to 495/70R24 (52" tall) that are also available, from a number of other manufacturers with similar chevron tread patterns, to include Michelin and Mitas...
