Prague is such an amazing place. I had a chance to visit the year after the wall came down. The whole country is beautiful. Budapest looks a great deal like it too, with the same river contours through town. A bit jealous right now.

In most of the photos I see of the expedition, there is no love for the mysterious truck with the black canopy pictured here in the middle - what is it's role in the expedition, what is it, how is it equipt, why is it exlcuded from many of the photos, etc? I like this thing and want to know more :coffeedrink:

It is an HZJ79 pick-up. We use it as a support and cinematographers vehicle. It has a turbo and many of the same modifications as the 78s. It is a cool machine - it might be my favorite.

Poor Kurt... so many forum members offer their empathy for the misery he must be going through. ;)

You all stay safe and keep the adventure going!

Overall, the trip is going well and I am home for a few weeks to obtain the Russian tourist visa. Europe was a wonderful diversion and emphasized more of the natural beauty and cultural experiences than any real 4wd'ing. That is ok, as the Fjords of Norway, NordKapp and the Balkans were are a pleasure to explore. We spent some additional time meandering through Prague, Vienna and much of France. We are trying to enjoy each continent for their gems, so in Europe it is not about dirt roads but cobbled stoned ones. . .

Mostly just iPhone or Fuji X10 shots. We haven't begun reviewing the 1,500+ DSLR shots.

I spent a lot of time with Stephanie in Saint Remy de Provence. Beautiful little village in the south of France

Kelsey and Stephanie helped me transport the trucks to France for service. Bruce Dorn and his wife Maura also helped drive one of the 78s, a huge help. This happens during transport stages when I need to move the trucks around for service or shipping, etc. when the bulk of the team is not traveling.

Harry's Bar in Venice. Anyone know the famous writer that frequented this spot?

71 north Latitude. Further north than Prudhoe Bay. Furthest north you can drive on a road in the world. . .

Really looking forward to Russia and the Road of Bones (old summer road). We will see how much of it is still drivable.

I love the toothpaste pic...that is the kind of stuff that you rarely hear about or get to see pics of.
Any pics of the day to day life of traveling?
Thoughts on what it is like to have so many rigs trying to fuel up/stop/eat/cross borders together?
