Escaping my DCC camper

Folks, been a member for a while, 1st time posting,
just picked up a DCC for my GMC, and in process of building it out… poor mans version
1 question, if inside and i turn the handle and shut the door, if the t handle collapses or inadvertently someone pushes it in, how the heck do i get out

btw the lettering is now off, love the mountain scene, but doesn’t go well with black truck

I taped a small piece of wood tob the back of one of these locks, it will keep the handle from fully closing.

Has GFC changed the latch design to prevent you from getting locked in? Or to prevent the latches from freezing shut?
