Discovery 1 Gas Cap?

I need to get the disco inspected this weekend and I want to get a new gas cap first. Any one know if you need a rover specific gas cap or if the one for the auto parts store will work?

Any gas cap that properly fits should do the trick. I never ran a OEM gas cap on my old DI and did not have a problem passing smog.

By "inspected", do you mean smog or ?

In Texas we have to get a state safety and emissions inspection.

An auto parts store cap will work fine. I've got one on the truck from Autozone and just had the emissions down with no problems. They just started doing the gas cap check last year here in NM.

I've lost...okay drove off and left them at the gas station...at least two.

The $8 replacement from your local parts store will be just fine.

If you are desparate you might even be able to find one at a salvage yard in your area, off a Disco.
