Also I have some maintenance to do...front output on t case is leakingn driver side cv is slinging greasen both front axle seals are leaking (it's not been long ago I redid all of that), oil pressure sending unit is shot pegged at 80 on dash and 135 on my torque app.. trail rides beat this thin up.

So I think I have a plan with the front end. I'm going to keep it 1/2 ton 6 lug, Dana 44 driver drop.....I've been doing some research and found a Tahoe that has a 94-01 dodge 1500 front axle (5 lug I know), what's cool about this axle is that its the correct side diff, correct width, the Chevy 6 lug unit bearings will drop in place of the dodge unit bearings, the axle spline is correct for the Chevy unit bearings (and speed sensor) can be put in place with radius arms, can keep my steering box, dodge caliper will work with Chevy rotor.

the not so cool is I will have to change gear ratio's as there is no corresponding gear ratio between dodge and chevy…..

1500 dodge front axles come in 3.55:1 and 4.09:1
1500 suburban 3.73:1 and 4.10:1

If I can find a 4.09 dodge front and 4.10 suburban rear they would work together

Drive shaft will need to be made.

SAS!! Awesome stuff.

If you get that dodge axle in a 4.09 for the front- most of the GM 14 bolt SF's are 4.10's and you can find them for not too expensive + bolt in for the rear.

That would be a sweet setup!

That would be the plan...I really never plan on going over 35s so the tire and gear combo would work good. Supposedly this SAS is the easiest SAS the person I talked to about it has ever done and he said he has done 6 or 7 on other vehicles.

The inner tubes from your rear bumper to the rear wheel, shouldn't the end curve inward to it doesn't catch on things?

I just ready through the whole thread, I was sure you were going to have a blown engine after switching to a Fram filter, glad to see you replaced it before it could do damage.

How many miles on your sub? As I get up there in mileage I wonder how others similar to mine are doing.

175k on it now no problems other than a little valve seep...its no a daily though I might put 100 miles on it a month unless I'm going on a trip. As for the bumper I don't understand the question but I trimmed the body behind the rear wheels.

So I was blessed with winch the guy that gave it to me said the guy that gave it to him said it was dunked and started acting sporadic so they took it off and left it... its an engo 9000....I know the very minimum fir a winch is 1.5x the weight of the vehicle to be pulled....so I'm pushing it...

The good; the motor looks brand new, the brushes hardly have wear, the brake is new, the drum wasn't even rusted where the wire goes...

The bad; control box is ruined, no cable or fairlead, planetary gears are seized....20210219_142615.jpg20210219_144543.jpg20210219_160313.jpg20210219_160859.jpg20210219_160904.jpg20210219_152840.jpg20210219_152914.jpg20210219_155039.jpg20210219_155301.jpgIMG_20210219_162431_511.jpg

Evapo rust is amazing the planetary gears were locked up. I even smacked the them with a plastic hammer a few times and couldn't get any movement....I threw them into a bucket of Evapo-Rust and let them sit 24 hours....holy smokes they were like new...I gave it some run time with my drill in the evapo-rust just to make sure it would run without a hiccup pulled it out and put a coat of grease back on all the gears per another manufacturer winch instructions (can hardly find any info on the engo).20210223_170930.jpgIMG_20210223_173644_177.jpg20210223_171122.jpg20210223_190908.jpg20210223_190914.jpg20210223_191329.jpg20210223_193032.jpg
