Greetings to all of you ^_^

I will share some of thousands of photos I've taken since 2009 in my homeland Dhofar, Sultanate of Oman:

Wow, that's amazingly beautiful. I never would have thought any part of Arabia looked like that. The only part of Arabia I've ever been to is Kuwait, which is just a big, flat sandbox with ZERO green spaces (other than artificial oases) and exactly ONE terrain feature (Mutla'a Ridge, just North of Kuwait City.)

Thanks for the pictures Shanfari. These remind me a lot of west Texas when it they have had rain vs the current drought. We love viewing pictures of places we will probably never get to visit in person but at least visit vicariously through them. I just wish the political and religious leaders of the world's countries could be as open and sharing as the members of this forum. This is another example of how alike all the peoples of the world are. Thank you and keep the pictures coming.

Thanks, Martin! Rub' Al Khali desert is only 100-60 km to the north from those woodlands :). I'll post more photos that I hope you like ^_^.

Actually my country is one of the safest countries in the world :) Just google Dhofar or Oman. It's a calm country and we get lost of Europeans seeking peace of mind here :).

BTW I've lived in Virginia for two years and finished my high school there between 2002-2004. Loved the squirrels!

Many photos are on the way! Salute :)

Been there this summer! Just breath taking!

You're our neighbors :) Now people go from here to Dubai in Winter ^_^

Salam :)

We work and live in Abu Dhabi UAE, and often travel across the border into Oman, the country is breathtakingly beautiful and the people the friendliest I have ever met.

We travelled down to Salalah last year in our JKU and although a long boring journey it was well worth it to see the wonderful lush scenery. We did make a wrong turn and went towards the port to be stopped by a gun toting soldier on port defence duty, this man was very pleasant and we had a great laugh at my map reading prowess before he directed us to the correct route. To camp on the beach with flamingos in the lagoon next was incredible.

I would recomend anyone to travel here from Musandum in the North through the Hajar mountains and Dofar in the South an explorers dream country.

Beautiful pictures. I spent a day in Oman while in port at Jebel Ali in the late 90's. Gorgeous country for sure.

Just moved to Dubai and planning to take this trip sometime in the next few months. Would love any pointers from someone who's been.

This is so awesome! Cannot wait to visit! I am planning a trip during July of this year and would love to talk to you about where to go...especially interested in wildlife photography and any thing else off the beaten path.
