Location: Marshall CA (can show in Sausalito CA)

This is our second Sportsmobile Sprinter conversion and we spent a lot of time and money to get this one just right for our travels. It's made 3 trips to Alaska. The original build has been upkept and is in excellent condition, and we've more upgrades along the way. There’s a ton of details in the build that make this rig functional for short trips or long haul adventures, we’ve designed every detail thinking about the inevitable tradeoffs and weighing function first for our travels. It was also important to us to consider the feel of the rig and the living experience while living in the van. The interior is functional and unique. Sportsmobile West (now Fieldvan) knows how to build their interiors to last, this one is super solid, and well set up for a range of adventures. We built the rig so that we are comfortable camping anywhere, for us that has been remote campgrounds, or gravel roads, most of the 68,000 miles it has traveled are highway miles.

Price: $148,000 OBO

Highlights:

Agile Offroad suspension upgrade

Aluminess Roof Rack with ladder, rear bumper and rear box set up

1up Bike rack set up (for 2 bikes)

Alu-cab v3 roof top tent (wired to power) - added in 2020

Full bath with composting toilet

(many more features in the full list at the bottom)

Known Problems: Small dent on rear passenger side fender, smaller dent on the back door above window from a tree - both back up errors :-(

Overview:

Sleeping:
Rear dinette converts to a huge bed (almost a king). We have a bed to convert the front cab seats into a single bed (small adult or child), and the Alu-Cab roof top tent (added in 2020) can sleep two (it's way up top, so it's not recommend for small children, and you need enough agility to climb up the ladder to the roof. The tent is wired to the van's power and has a light and usb power. This RRT is super well built and and the best views are often had up top in the tent!

Cooking: In the kitchen we use a portable jet boil stove (a great quality propane stove that we can use to cook outdoors or indoors, it uses the same standard propane canisters as the grill), there is an Isotherm 3.5 cf fridge, well designed food storage cabinets, and a custom solid walnut countertop with flip up for additional counter space. There is a cabinet for a microwave that we have removed and we’ve customized this cabinet for laptops and technology storage/charging.

Suspension & Tires: An important upgrade is the Agile Offroad suspension, which is a major improvement over the stock Sprinter suspension which we felt was totally unacceptable for a build of this size and weight. Agile Offroad suspension upgrade:
  • Custom rear leaf springs and front coil over
  • AO Fox 2.0 front auxiliary shocks
  • AO Fox 2.5 commercial-grade rear shocks
  • 2″ ride height increase from existing set up
  • Tires are BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A 235/85 R16 (larger than std)
Model/Mileage: This is a 2018 Sportsmobile model and delivery, the van is a 2017 Diesel 4x4 Sprinter model, one of the last Sprinter vans to be manufactured in Germany, before they moved production to the US. 68,000 miles - mostly long haul highway miles (3 trips to Alaska). We have used the van almost exclusively in the summer months, it's not been used for winter travel or for any 4x4 excursions. 100% of the Sprinter maintenance has been done at SF Mercedes dealer. We get between 13-15 mpg depending on the drive and with help from an Ultragauge II that we installed.

Interior: Custom designed Sportsmobile interior with Sunbrella fabrics on the seats, walls, and headliner, bathroom (composting toilet), shower, seatbelts for 9, Espar diesel furnace/hot water heater. Custom Loncoin flooring - super durable and always looks pretty clean.

Power: 200w Solar system, and inverter.

Exterior: Aluminess rack with ladder, rear bumper and boxes, with 1-up bike racks (2). Solar panels are mounted on top of Alu-Cab tent so there is still room for more storage or hanging our on the roof.

GVWR: 11,030lb - Weighed in at 10,470 fully loaded on our first trip to Alaska, including 2 adults and a 15 year old kid.

Full list of features in the buildout:

Hi, It's not sold yet. Until I have the money in the bank and sign the title over there's always a chance the sale won't happen, but I do have a deposit. The buyer wants it taken to the Mercedes dealer for an inspection and we couldn't get an appointment until the 19th. I'm happy to answer any question about it, and I will know if the deal will happen on on the 20th.
