VW will supply the complete chassis, ready for any body. The Brubaker Box is perfect

Transition to the new truck is nearing completion.
Truck is just about done.

Camper still needs a color change and a few changes.

Thanks. Camper weighs just about 2k dry.
It was more a matter of beefing up the soggy super duty springs than anything else.

Seems the importance of ride quality empty has trumped ride height when loaded.

Even with a much lower GVWR, the old truck carried the weight much better (stock for stock)

Its definitely spring rates.

These newer superduty trucks seem to prioritize empty ride quality over payload/loaded stance.
I have to run bags currently to do it "right"

Higher spring rate leafs are on the list of to-do's
I hate being so dependent upon the bags.

Wouldn't adding a leaf get you most of the way there?

As it sits I'm running an add-a-leaf and 65# in the bags.

At 130K the factory leafs may just be toast.

Couldnt say for certain, but I know a lot of Superduty owners complain about the soft rear leafs in this vintage truck.
Typically the solution is to swap for 1-ton blocks, but I dont want more block, I want more spring.

Somewhere in the endlessly entertaining threads I've been reading the last week there was a mention of a German company that does ultra-light shells for small trucks. I think it started with an 'M'. Anybody know what I'm talking about?? I think they were maybe even CF.

Thanks in advance.
