Excelsior!
My detailed write up is here Offroad Adventure At 10,000'
Timing-wise I had no issues with traffic and the Bishop motel was decent, allowing me an early morning start up the trail.
Trail conditions were fairly good although extremely dusty. I did meet two nice ladies who were heading up in a tired old Ford Explorer
to count amphibs for the USFS. A fair number of bow hunters were scurrying about, competing for a few deer.
In the evening the bugs could be numerous but they were quite slow flying at 10,000' so fairly easy to avoid.
I was very happy with the performance of the Wildpeak tires, the front view camera, the roof rack setup and especially the new RCI skidplates!
Desert Dan!
My view below the high hood of the 5th Gen 4Runner
Dinner with a view
Nothing beats a hot fire on a cool night
