Costa Rica! Arenal, Manuel Antonia, Santa Teresa

Not really an expedition but it was an adventure! My wife and some close friends toured Costa Rica in a rented Mitsubishi Montero diesel ending in Santa Teresa for a friends wedding.

Costa Rica blew us away, what a place!

We wrote a few blog posts if you are interested to take a look:

Great photographs! My sloth picture was not nearly that close-up. More of a blur of fur seen from the ground. I miss CR! We rented a Prado diesel and it was so fun to drive.

Thanks for posting,

Eric

We really enjoyed our drive through Costa Rica in Dec 08. We rented a little 4wd Diahatsu. We had spent 4 months in Costa Rica seeing various stuff reachable by bus from our base in Atenas.

Even with the stiff fee and expensive guides Manuel Antonio is really a cool park. So many animals on a little 1 mile walk.

Other highlights:
Turtles at Playa Grande
Dirt roads and empty beaches on the Nicoya pennisula
Seeing Lava come out of Arenal at night
SkyTrek ziplines at Arenal blew my mind

Fantastic photos! They really show some of the diversity of CR. You could make post-cards out of any of them.

Thanks for sharing.

Was in Costa Rica last Spring and enjoyed reliving some of it. Manuel Antonio is nice.
