Spamicus Eliminatus
I got an email from this company (spam really) so I can't vouch for them, but the product grabbed my attention.
Trackstick GPS data logger
They are basically track loggers, but appeal to me for a few reasons:
Now I must say that it's no replacement for SPOT or a GPS, it's simply for a different tool. Something like this would be great to throw into your bag to geotag photos (just sync timestamps between the GPS and camera first) or track your route on a jog or even a touristy vacation. I would have actually loved to carry one of these on my Europe backpacking trip a few years ago simply to keep a log of the route and geotag.
Price is a bit high though considering you could probably do most of this with a basic GPS.
Thoughts?
Trackstick GPS data logger
They are basically track loggers, but appeal to me for a few reasons:
- Size - it's not much bigger then a pack of gum.
- Weather resistant - no Mil spec listed though
- Battery life - they report 4 weeks on a few AAA's (on the super version).
- Google Earth integration - out of the box is always good.
- Memory - with a few MB you can capture LOTS of tracks
