Childhood Camper conversion to Expo trailer

I've been wanting to build an expo trailer for a long time and asked him if I could chop up a harbor freight trailer that we had laying around. He said no I couldn't use that one but that I could use our old camper that I camped in when I was 4 years old. My Dad and I had this old trailer that has been sitting for almost a decade of no use, mold and mildew. Having kids of my own now, I thought that was a genius idea in that I can re-build this trailer to take my kids camping. It will be a completely different animal but I thought the sentimental aspect of it was pretty cool. I instantly told him that it was a done deal, and the next day I was towing the old hunk of canvas, metal, and memories to my house. Over the next couple days I would be tearing it down and creating ideas (by salvaging the parts that were still good (there werent many). I've got it down to bare frame and am now into the fun part... planning. As soon as I figure out how to add pictures i'll be posting my progress.... Stay tuned!

We tore down a old pop up a few years ago just like yours. It was in about the same shape. The frame and all of the electrical components went into the new build.
The best part was when we took all of the old skin to the recycling center. It brought over 200.00 bucks.

Good luck with the build.

I would like to see someone rebuild a tent trailer 1 to 2 feet thinner. Now that would be a project to follow.
