So last week I started to hear some squeaking coming from underneath my truck. So I crawled under it and started giving it a once over starting at front diff and working back. Thats when I found exesssive play in my carrier bearing. I gave the drive shaft a shake back and forth and it squeaked just like I was hearing while driving.
Having 86k on my truck I'm not that supprised I have heard people on Tacomaworld having the same problem. So the plan is to drop the drive shaft soon and replace the carrier bearing and all the ujoints (with ones with zero fittings so I can add more grease as needed) while I'm at it. Jake (jeverich) will be bringing me up some parts when he comes back up here later in the month ( its a lot cheaper to get parts at Napa in Washington than at our local Napa). Anyone else have to change theirs out yet on any of the different Toyota models?
Also tossing the idea around of doing a write up. Just seeing if there is any interest :snorkel: before we dive into it!?!??!?!!?!?
