Cb

I finally got to install a CB radio. I built a little cabinet for it to sit on that also includes a little space for the power inverter we use on trips. It's not the prettiest piece of equipment I've made but it allows the CB and inverter to be completely swappable from one vehicle to another with minimal fuss. With the inverter on I get a small amount of noise over the CB, but its not enough to hinder the vocals I receive.

Its the 40 dollar Radio Shack magnetic based short one. No idea of the actual brand, but its only 27 or 30 inches tall. I figure that height could be an issue in the woods, and even this one may be too tall sitting on the roof, but its unobtrusive and removable, and it receives and transmits so I'm happy for now.
