Cape Town to Cairo - Africa Overland

Earlier this week, one of the UK TV stations broadcast an hour documentary on a family of 5 taking a career break (gap year) and driving from Cape Town, South Africa to Cairo, Egypt.

They equipped a Toyota Land Cruiser with a rooftop tent, plus an offroad trailer (with a rooftop tent as well).

Here is the link (hopefully it will work outside the UK) - Family Gap Year

The show does highlight passion over the benefits that training, preparation, planning and 'knowledge transfer' offer to any future overlander.

Enjoy

Since its didnt break down you didnt hear a word about it. If it had broken down it would be everywhere on the net.

Dont forget the drive around the world team in Discos either.

Interesting story. About 12 years ago my brother and a friend drove from Paris to Cairo in an 86 Celica. The pics were amazing and he will forever have memories that so few will ever experience.
