There's a button you can push every time you turn the car on, and you can turn it off permanently with Tazer, etc. ESS is automatically turned off when in 4LO

SmartStopStart makes a plug-in module that remembers the last setting. So if you turn it off once, it will stay off. It apparently installs in about 5 minutes or less. I've had the module for several weeks waiting for the Gladiator to arrive. I picked the vehicle up yesterday...103 days after placing the order.

You can control the stop/start with the brake pedal. I don't know why anyone would want to shut it off, it saves a decent amount of gas. Probably improves my daily commute by .3-.5 mpg and I don't have a lot of stops. Seems like people have some kind of mental block against it, not sure why. Either way, you can control it with your foot or shut it off when you start the vehicle.

I don’t mind the start/stop feature. As stated above, if it helps with gas mileage fine.
You can disable if you want, and it doesn’t do it in 4lo

One feature I do need to get, is the ecu reflash that allows me to disconnect the sway bar in 2wd. Makes running rough washboards more enjoyable without having to go into 4wd

I ran redcone yesterday with some other Jeepers. Great group of folks. My pics are too large, but I was able to add a few to post number 1

Nice! One of the only options I don't have is the front trail cam, I may look into adding it as it looks really useful.

Has anyone tried installing a FWC Swift yet?

I haven’t seen anyone mount a swift to a gladiator yet. I am in line for a May (hopefully) delivery of a Gladiator specific Alu-Cab Canopy Camper. More waiting is in store for us.

In the mean time, I can start the never ending research for interior setups, fridge/freezer, dual battery, and solar products.

Alu-Cab is a great choice. They make some sweet products. Looking forward to following your build/setup.

There is a way to reduce the size of photos.....

Could you tell us what the payload sticker says on your JT? Also, any idea what the expected dry weight is (as ordered) for your Alu-Cab? Thanks.

^I recently got a Tacoma, which have less payload over Gladiators. Mine has about as much as I could get for a stock 4x4 at 1140. Tough to make that work with all of the stuff one can throw at a mid-size truck...

Anyway, the Alu-cab looks awesome and can certainly fit in to a midsize truck's payload. Let us know how you fit it out!

It’s been a few months since I have made any updates. New motorcycle, pandemic, and life got in the way.
I am happy to report that my canopy camper from Alu-Cab is on a boat with a 4/15 port date.
Now with everything going on, I am not too excited that I’ll even get a glimpse of this until Summer time. But maybe the customs, and truck drivers etc will be deemed essential. Here are some pics from OK4WD website to hold us over.
