Callen Camper Company- Back in Business

He did the same thing before the San Marcos guy took over. Just Craigslist ads with his personal phone number.
He’s old school. We‘ll be lucky to see a website.

I just wish his campers weren’t so heavy. Newer trucks can’t handle weight of the heavy campers on the bed rails without cracking.
My friend had the half cabover on his 2005 Ram 2500. He put flat plate under the rail and it did well but no big Baja trip. The racks could be aluminum to cut the weight waay down. His racks were stupid strong but heavy.

Anyone know the status of the company? I lived in North County most my life and saw Callens everywhere(especially my morning surf spot), but now I'm up in MT and never see them. I need a shell for my work truck and I'd be willing to travel down there to get one.

I've seen a 2000 Superduty's front rails bowed out from a 1/2 cabover Callen. He beat the truck up pretty good in Baja. I had one on a 1998 F-150 with one of their 10K # racks. No issues but only a couple of Baja runs on lightweight roads.

My buddy recently got a custom camper from Enduro Campers in SLO that reminded me a lot of my old Callen’s except this one is made of composite panels and the nose is carbon fiber. Fit and finish is pretty amazing for a new camper company.
