Thanks for all the people in the Midwest that make these trails possible. It was fun being a bike tourist after being gone for over a decade. Get out and ride some of these if you are in this neck of the woods.

Back in Alaska and got out on Crescent Lake Trail in the Chugach National Forest and got my wife out on her new 27.5+ wheelset for her fatbike. She now has Hope hubs and Velocity Dually rims and Schwallbe Nobby Nic 2.8 tires. I finally got around to add my King Cage mounts to my fork so I can add the King Cage Many Thing cage. 20180617_135314.jpg20180617_134550.jpg20180616_130205.jpg20180616_124656.jpg

It was a challenging ride. Plus tires are not needed 700 42 tires would be the ticket, the busses do not take more than 2 bikes and they have to ride on the front rack that will not take plus or fat tires. also only the backpacker busses (green) take bikes. I had to deflate my tires to fit into the bike rack and the bus kicked dirt and gravel up into the tire bead and rim making re-setting up tubeless impossible, even with an air compressor. I am glad I biked out and bussed back. If I were to bus out and bike back I would have been a mess trying to get the tires back on the rime. All and all a great trip I did loose my old Dana Designs Nuktuk tipi tent on the bus. That 20 year old "mid" has been around the world with me and Denali is a fitting place for a cherished gear funeral.
