Bought a couple of 110's

A quick background check - if I have found the right vehicle, suggests it was first registered in Jan 1991. It reached 170k miles in Jan 10 and was still at that figure at Jan 11, then went back to 135k miles for its Jan 18 MOT. With a couple of periods when it wasn’t used (no MOT for 2009 and only 300 miles between Jan 10 and Jan 11), I wonder if it was garaged, then had an engine swap to the 300 Tdi When it came back out of retiral?

Nice vehicle, though!

Thanks for the info. Atleast the V5 shows it using heavy oil (or whatever they show as diesel fuel) on the documents.

This is the 1989 200 TDi we bought as well. We are going to repaint some of it and give it a nice once over, wolf wheels, larger tires and a lift.

Has a rebuilt ascroft transmission in it. Salisbury rear axle.

Interesting that the pick-up has also had a lengthy period when it was not road-registered - 10 years in its case, before it was (presumably) fairly extensively rebuilt by PJ Fabrications. I guess this will become increasingly common with UK-sourced LRs (my own Defender has been slowly rusting in a shed since late ‘07).

The frame has been rebuilt. The guy didn't even know what he had. So we got a really good deal on it.

I'd definitely be interested when it has a Utah Title and the customs is done! Of course, then the price-tag goes up but of course the advantage is we can actually drive it! hahaha

It shipped Thursday. So as soon as we get through customs and get it on the ground I can give you a better idea on price. The boat alone was $1500. I'm not sure yet what customs is going to cost. That's always the fun part. Its usually 2.5% I think. Without getting out my bible on importing fees right now.

If you want some more pictures I can send you do my dropbox location.

My business partner fly over, inspect and buy on site. We don't buy from any websites.

We usually look at and test drive about 20 in a week when we go over. We only buy 3-4 out of the ones we look at usually.

Because most of the ones we look at are scabbed together crap. I was just at the port picking up 2 more the 2 weeks ago. There were three other defenders there. They were so rotted out, I could not believe someone paid to ship that scrap metal.

My business partner and I jumped in ours, and drove them all the way from LA to Utah without too many issues. Just a leaky radiator in the one I was driving.
