BoldAdventures 2015 Power Wagon Build

We love this truck. I don't feel like much was needed to make it a real performer offroad. And even with the 6.4L Hemi, she's been a pleasure to tow with across all types of terrain. I have yet to find myself saying "I wish I had a diesel".

This truck really fits our lifestyle. And I'd highly recommend the Power Wagon to anyone who is considering a fullsize truck that is truly capable and won't require thousands of dollars worth of modifcations to actually be capable.

Very nice truck!

Any issue with the 35" tires rubbing? Any leveling kit? I want to change mine to the same tire as urs when the duratracs are done but I don't want to add any lift or leveling kits

No rubbing and zero issues with the Toyo Open Country's. I do not have a leveling kit. 100% stock suspension still.

They've been great and already saved my rockers twice. Work good enough as a step too. Overall, I'm really happy with the investment. They're a solid quality product. And you'll be suporting an american small business.

Are u happy with the open design or would the diamond plate covered ones be better?

They look like good quality and very similar to my sliders on my jeep..

Dude great truck beautiful areas you explored wish my wife was that big into expedition type stuff. I love the power wagon. Wish I could afford something like that, but for now the 1500 will have to do. Quick question how do you like the forward facing camera, and what is the purpose of it?

I'm stuffing this in my build thread, becuase I don't know where else to stick it on this site. There will be a gathering of other Power Wagon Owners in Moab this May. For full details go here: http://forum.powerwagonregistry.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=4183

DATES: May 1,2017 to May 7, 2017
WHERE: Moab, Utah

We picked these dates to allow folks to travel over April 29th & 30th. But I realize some folks might not be able to arrive till mid week or towards the end. We will save the best trails and photo ops for Thursday (May 4th), Friday (May 5th) & Saturday (May 6th).

This is a FAMILY FRIENDLY event. If you have kids, bring 'em. We had a few kids last year.

Really great thread I'm sorry I'm just seeing g this now. Really cool how capable full size rigs can be with some planning. And serious kudo's to you for following your dreams with your wife and family! Great experiences and learning for all involved. Love it!

I wanted to post something on your K&N filter. I ran a K&N on my stock Yukon for a long time but after reading this comparison I went back to OEM. I get that K&N is great for fire breathing monsters that need huge airflow but for mostly stock vehicles I think the trade off of dirt allowed through doesn't make sense. As with anything YMMV but wanted to at least mention it. :)

I'm looking hard at picking up a 2017. I'm coming from a diesel so what should I expect for real world gas mileage in day to day driving?

Thats promising, I have a 2016 Ram 2500 with the 6.4 and 3.73 gears. Planning on eventually a regear and lockers to build my own power wagon..On stock tires, 275/70's I think, I'm getting 13-16 on the highway and 10-12 around town if mashing it..
