Blueberry Gone Wild FJ Build

BJ'sFJ

BJ's Tundra :)
12/10/14 Took home a meticulously maintained 2007 Voodoo Blue FJ. Just a hair over 100k miles, 4x4, never off road, factory locker + A-trac, all bone stock! Even had OEM running boards. Threw on a spacer lift , Bobby Mount Chop (BMC Poway special) , and 285/75/17 (33.8") Nitto Terra Grappler G2 and I was off !

This builds Primary use is a Reliable DD that can get me anywhere I want and home at the end of the weekend. Just a Build for camping, road trips, and exploring with the pup (Ozzy) and Family/Friends.
Not looking to PreRun the Baja 1000 or race KOH although I am trying to make it strong and reliable enough to hit some fun terrain! ;)

Post up if you have any questions or suggestions!!!

Current Mileage: 151,400 as of 8/23/17

Nice looking FJ
How good are those Baja Designs?

Thank You!
I'm very happy with the Baja Designs Lights.
They blow away anything I've seen or used.

What difference in throttle response, torque, and trans shift points have you noticed with the 33s on?

"On a budget"...Opens thread...sees 5 Baja Designs lights.

Something's off, hahaha.

Sub'd and looking forward to the rest of this build!

Any night shots

None at this time. I am headed to Sequoia National Park soon and will try to get some then. Too much light pollution by me currently.

There is a little lag with the added weight on the drive train. It still gets up and goes and can easily pass quickly when needed. I tend to drive like an old man anyways, So I haven't noticed much.

Well, I may have blew the budget on Lights :Wow1:
absolutely NO complaints on those..

Do you have any thoughts on wind noise and mpg impacts from the Baja rack?

Naturally the FJ is shaped like a brick so there is certainly some wind noise without the rack.
With the rack on I did notice some more noise in crosswind situations. Not crazy noticeable over a exhaust and radio.
Can have the radio up a little and still be able to have a conversation. No screaming and yelling to hear people in the back seat.

For my Trooper I was contemplating a dual battery system for the fridge and CPAP etc. But ultimately I decided to go simple and got one big battery instead, a 100 amp-hour Group 31 Sears Platinum, and one of those little lithium jump starters as backup. It has worked great for overnights, no hint of any serious battery drain-down or trouble starting.

I'm going the same route with a group 31 Odyssey and the Anti Gravity back up jump starter. Haven't had any issues to date running my ARB 50q fridge for several days without starting the truck. However, I am looking into a solar charging kit from Renogy to extend my ability to run a lot more off my battery without running my truck and for longer periods.
