These are the Montero gen 2/2.5 specific shocks provided by Adventure Driven Design with only 1,071 miles on them. Attached is a pic of the receipts with mileage from changing these out.
I bought them, waited 5 or 6 months for delivery (covid delays), had my shop install them, took one trip, and had my shop swap them for the 4600. The 5100s are a dream on the washboards and dirt roads, incredibly smooth while still keeping that planted feeling; made me want to go fast… too fast. But, with a dirt bike on the hitch carrier plus a week of camping stuff loaded up, I wanted a more firm ride for the twisty mountain highways. Most of my driving is on the highway to get to riding spots, often times with no dirt at all, so a more street oriented shock fits my needs better.
ADD has these listed for 495 plus tax and you have to wait like 6 weeks before they’re even shipped. Could be longer like it was for me. Buy these, save some money, ride on a cloud of tits, and GET THEM WITHIN A WEEK.
The shocks themselves have some scratches and dirt from install and removal, but function as new with only 1,071 miles on them, probably 95% street miles.
