So this summer I finally got a chance to do something I have been wanting to do for a couple years. That is to really try to learn photography and videography. I had always wanted to do photography by I never had the camera or the gear. If I did have the money, I always spent it on truck mods and camping gear. But this summer, I finally committed. I saved some cash and tried to really get some solid starter gear for filming and photographing overlanding. So, in this video, I show all the gear that I am currently using to film for my YouTube show. But also some of the gear that I have been using to film and photograph stuff off road. Since I just don’t want to do “overlanding off-road/trip” videos, I needed gear to cover a lot of bases. I needed gear for overlanding of course, but I also needed gear to film for a studio setting. I also needed gear just for photography, but also for going to shows like the AEV open house which I am filming in 2 weeks. I spent about 6 months doing research and learning prior to buying the first few pieces and about three more months testing and practicing. Needless to say, I spent A LOT of time watching YouTube videos. Big shout out to Peter Mckinnon and Jason Kortege for all their videos and inspiration. Now mind you, I am no pro. I am only the most basic of noob. Trust me, the learning curve is INSANE! But, if anyone has any tips and tricks that you see that I can improve on, I would LOVE to hear them! I would also like to share my gear list as people may have suggestions, or like what they see.
