BCDC in Trailer Wiring Question

Hey all and hoping for some expert advise....
I am about to install a Redarc 1225d bcdc in my trailer along with a Battleborn life4po battery, midi fuses, Redarc low voltage disconnect, etc. I will also be running dedicated charge wires from the Land Cruiser to the Redarc in the trailer. Wiring those pieces makes sense to me but i have a question about the existing 7pin trailer wiring coming from the Land Cruiser to the trailer. The 7 pin connector supplies 12v to the old battery....Do I need to or should i disconnect that ? If i do should i leave the ground coming from the truck from the 7 pin connector attached? Maybe i am overthinking things here.... My thought was to remove the 12v coming from the truck but leave the ground.

Thoughts ?

Thank you all!

I suggest leave it live from the car, but just dont connect anything to it inside your trailer. You will need to leave your negative ground intact as it provides negative for your brakes, taillamps, etc.

Thank you... That was the route i was thinking as well.
