I want to mount cutting boards on the fiberglass barn doors (yes, fiberglass! Ford engineers decided that fiberglass doors was one way to reduce weight) of my 2000 Ford Excursion. The cutting boards I have are thick (1.75") and heavy (12.5 lbs. for the small one). They may turn out to be too heavy for my purpose. Before I commit to try using piano hinges to connect the cutting board, while using some type of plate on the backside of the door to help disburse the weight stress, I welcome others' experiences, comments, and suggestions.
