great looking 4runner looks "crawler" with the 37's and "overlander" with the 35's

either way really cool looking truck.

Wow was it really 2013 when I had this rig. So much has happened.
I lost my house, changed careers (failed at starting a business) and landed at a school district with a pretty steady union job.
Red 4runner was traded for an Early Bronco, EB was sold to pay bills and finally 6 years later I have another project. I'll post some pics soon. 90 Toyota ExtraCab.IMG_0485.JPG

So a little progress. I decided that the 35's are not the direction I want to go in. I decided to go with BFG K02 33x10.50x15 on stock Toyota 15x7 steelies. There's also a 2 inch body lift that I'm thinking about removing. If I do the 5VZ swap it will have to stay. I'll cross that bridgeIMG_0060.JPGIMG_0061.JPGIMG_0062.JPG when I get to it.

So all the work right now is boring stuff. Trips to DMV, Ca. Smog etc. Once its legal I'll start on the real work. However it moved under its own power last night and I finally got to drive my truck after 2 years of sitting. More to follow........IMG_0130.JPGIMG_0131.JPG

Finally getting somewhere. Truck is smogged, registered, and home where she belongs. Still a ton of work to do but considering that 2 years ago it was just a roller and all the engine parts were in a tub, I’m pretty stoked. More to follow!!5E974C92-8CA7-4947-A506-6C7F08446E49.jpeg03FEC488-7BD3-4095-AB11-746D00725761.jpeg

I've owned a few 1st gens over the years. Love those things.

That 22RE is pretty painful on the freeway stock, I can't imagine trying to turn those tires when also weighed down with a bunch of overlanding gear.

I always wanted to stuff a 4.7 v8 out of a Tundra into one...

I love the early 90’s pick ups. Nothing better than the first time you pull out of the driveway after it’s been sitting for a couple years.

Pull that body lift and cut a hole in the hood for the 3.4 swap :)

So.........
I was driving over to my shop and the truck started missing and felt like it was running on 5 cylinders. Its true. EVERY SINGLE 3vze out there will blow head gaskets at some time.

So its been apart for the last couple weeks. Running finally but a new weird noise. May just be an exhaust leak. Will keep you posted.
